LUFTHANSA Long Haul Updates For 2019…..Yes, 2019.

Not one for letting grass grow under their feet, Lufthansa schedule management has begun to tweak their Spring/Summer 2019 timetable.    Thus far only 2 changes have been filed in their system and they are minor, but many more are expected in the coming weeks.

Frankfurt – Bangkok effective March 31, 2019 will be flown by an A340-600 instead of an A340-300.

Frankfurt – Dallas effective march 31, 2019 will be flown by an A340-600 instead of an A330-300.

Lufthansa Increases Capacity To Palma During Bavaria’s Holiday……

To meet an expected demand in traffic as a result of the Pentecost holiday ‘season’ in southern Germany, Lufthansa has assigned an A346 to flight between Munich and Palma de Mallorca during peak travel dates.   Normally, the route is flown with an A321.

The flights that are affected by this change are as follows (verbatim from Lufthansa):

19 May 2018, LH2660, Munich 15:50 - Palma 17:55

20 May, 2018, LH1820, Munich 15:40 - Palma 17:45 

20 May, 2018, LH1821, Palma 19:00 - Munich 21:05

1 June 2018, LH1820, Munich 10.00 - Palma 12:10 

1 June 2018, LH1821, Palma 13:20 - Munich 15: 25

LUFTHANSA Updates Long Haul Aircraft Assignments For Winter 2018/19

Lufthansa has begun to update their Winter 2018/19 timetable to reflect changes in capacity due to seasonal shifts in passenger traffic.

For the most part, LH is increasing capacity on routes that favor warmer climates during the Northern Hemisphere’s winter.

The changes are as follows:

Frankfurt – Bangkok:  Beginning October 28, the A380 will replace the A343.

Frankfurt – Bogota:  Beginning October 28, the A346 will replace the A343 on the route.

Frankfurt – Dallas:  Beginning October 28, the A333 will fly the route exclusively (compared to a mix of A330 and A340 used last winter).

Frankfurt – Houston:  Beginning January 2, 2019, the 747-8i will replace the A380.

Frankfurt – Miami:  Beginning October 28, the A346 will replace the A380.

Frankfurt – New York (JFK):  Beginning October 28, LH404 and LH405 will be flown by an A343, replacing the A333 used last winter.

Frankfurt – Philadelphia:  Beginning October 28 the mainline A333 replaces the A340-300 CityLine.

Frankfurt – San Francisco:  Beginning October 28 the A346 replaces the A380.

Frankfurt – Seattle:  Beginning October 28 the A333 replaces the 747-400.

Frankfurt – Shanghai:  Beginning October 28, the A346 replaces the A380.
