Lufthansa has already cancelled approximately 220 flights for Tuesday including several long haul flights to and from the USA and Asia.
UFO, representing the Cabin Crew, has called for strikes in Berlin from 5:00a to 1:00p at Berlin-Tegel(TXL), from 6:00a-2:00p at Frankfurt(FRA) and Munich(MUC) from 1:00p to 12:00a (Midnight).
I sense this round of strikes will have an even deeper impact on Lufthansa’s operations than the first round last week. With approximately 220 flights already cancelled, this can lead to a cascading affect of more cancelations as the day goes on.
As always, for the most up to date information, including the list of cancelled flights, please visit Lufthansa’s webpage dedicated to the cancelled flights.
Vishal- unfortunately they do not have a claim since a strike is considered something outside the control of LH (as ruled by german courts) and passengers can not seek any compensation. Sorry, wish I had better news, but at least they were accomodated fairly well considering the circumstances.
FRA-DFW flight was cancelled. My parents had business award tickets (booked through US Airways.) LH re-booked them on FRA-ATL (in business) and ATL-DFW on AA (in economy.) Should they have received all business-class or better? Any basis for a claim?
Even if not cancelled some of the flights are running late – look at LH454 to SFO, 5 hours late already.
Pretty bad for LH – am a bit worried about my fligths on Friday.
