Boeing 737
Had it not been for Lufthansa’s vision for a short and medium range jet aircraft, the 737 may have never been developed. It was Lufthansa that approached Boeing in the late 1960s looking to find a solution for its route network in Europe. Lufthansa was the launch customer for the 737 with the first aircraft entering service on February 10, 1968. Since then nearly 8,000 737s have been built by Boeing.
