Due to the tragedy of the Kogalymavia / Metrojet crash in the Sinai region of Egypt, Lufthansa has taken immediate steps to avoid the airspace.
According to LH, they are rerouting flights away from the region out of an abundance of caution until the cause of today’s crash can be identified.
There are varying reports suggesting that the plane was experience technical difficulties moments before the crash as well as unsubstantiated claims of responsibility coming from ISIS-affiliated groups that operate in the area.
Passengers should not experience any delay or inconvenience as a result of these amended flight paths.
