logo-world-travel-awardsAt the World Travel Awards Gala held in Turkey on August 31, Lufthansa was recognized as “Europe’s Leading Airline” for the third time in a row while SWISS earned the award as Europe’s Airline Business Class also for the third consecutive time.   Lufthansa has now been awarded “Europe’s Leading Airline” a total of  6 times by the World Travel Awards.

 

Jens Bischof, Lufthansa’s Chief Commercial Officer acknowledged “This award is an incredible acknowledgment of the commitment of more than 100.000 Lufthansa Group colleagues on the ground and on board. It demonstrates the appreciation towards our intensified efforts to offer the best network coverage, connectivity and flexibility. We won’t rest on our laurels but spark even more fascination for our Lufthansa brand.”

The ceremony held in Antalya, Turkey is a culmination of a voting process that involved over 230,000 travel industry professionals.  This award ceremony marked the 20th anniversary of the World Travel Awards and has become known as the “Oscars” of the travel industry.
