Today’s update includes more winter timetable adjustments for United, revision in start days for Thai Smile routes, and other minor changes from Brussels Airlines, Singapore Airlines and Turkish.
BRUSSELS AIRLINES:
Brussels-Kigali effective June 1 will increase from 4x/week to 5x/week.
Brussels-Entebbe effective June 1 will increase from 3x/week to 4x/week.
THAI (SMILE):
Bangkok-Macau – New 2x/day service has been postponed from July 1 to July 7
Bangkok-Chiang Mai – New 2x/day service has been postponed from Aug 1 to Aug 16.
Chiang Mai-Phuket – New 1x/day service has been postponed from Aug 1 to Sept 16.
Bangkok-Surat Thani effective Sept 1 will begin 2x/day service.
Bangkok-Krabi effective Aug 16 will begin 4x/day service (replacing current THAI 3x/day service).
Bangkok-Phuket effective Sept 16 will begin 1x/day service.
The following routes that had originally been planned are now canceled:
Bangkok-Phnom Penh 2x/day service.
Bangkok-Gaya-Varanasi 4x/week service.
Bankok-Kolkata 1x/day service.
SINGAPORE AIRLINES:
Singapore-Perth effective Dec 10 to Jan 31 will increase from 24x/week to 28x/week (Winter schedule).
TURKISH:
Istanbul-Kuwait City effective June 11 to July 22 AND Aug 13 to Sept 16 will increase from 2x/day to 3x/day.
Istanbul-Kinshasa effective Aug 27 will begin 4x/week service.
Istanbul-Kinshasa effective Sept 27 will increase from 4x/week to 5x/week.
UNITED:
Newark-Compenhagen effective Sept 26 is canceled.
Washington(IAD)-Accra effective July 3 is canceled.
Newark-Rome effective Nov 11 is canceled (Winter Season only).
Washington(IAD)-Moscow effective Oct 27 is canceled (Winter Season only).
Chicago-Amsterdam effective Jan 3-March 9 (2013) will be reduced from 6x/week to 5x/week.
Newark-Berlin effective Nov 14-Jan 6 will be reduced from 6x/week to 4x/week.
Washington(IAD)-Dubline effective Sept 20-Jan 6 will be reduced from 1x/day to 5x/WEEK.
Washington(IAD)-Frankfurt effective Oct 16 will be reduced from 3x/day to 2x/day.
Washington(IAD)-Manchester effective Sept 1 will be reduced from 1x/day to 5x/WEEK.
Washington(IAD)-Manchester effective Jan 7 will be reduced from 5x/week to 4x/week.

Thanks! It will be interesting. I think there are a few other *A carriers that have a single flight out of there – NH, TK, OS come to mind. But agreed, not much.
Is this part of a UA move away from using IAD as a transatlantic hub, now that it has EWR? If so, would you expect further cancellations and reductions?
I tend to agree with your perspective and yes UA appears to really be consolidating more operations out of EWR at the expense of other east coast gateways. I find it surprising though because you are turning over susbstantial passenger traffic to the likes of the mid east carriers so to me its playing right into emirates’s hand. Theres not much other *A presence there other than LH and SAS but thats a only a few flights a day!
It will definitely be interesting to see how UA handles IAD.
I won’t be smiling till Thai brings back directs from BKK to LAX!
