LUFTHANSA / SWISS / AUSTRIAN / BRUSSELS 50% Off Business Class To Europe & North America!

LUFTHANSA / SWISS / AUSTRIAN / BRUSSELS 50% Off Business Class To Europe & North America!

Lufthansa, SWISS, and Austrian have posted a sensational Business Class fare sale for travel that originates from either Europe or North America!

The sale is scheduled to last until March 28 and covers travel between June 22 and August 11, 2018.

Some examples of the sale:

  • Frankfurt – New York for $2064
  • Prague – Washington DC for $2100
  • Munich – Los Angeles for $2600

In fact, most Business Class fares to the USA, Canada, Latin America, Europe, and Mexico are ranging between $2000 and $3000, making this a fantastic opportunity for summer travel.

What’s especially nice about this fare sale is that it covers travel in both directions.   Usually a fare sale is targeted towards departures from Europe OR North America.   Though prices from North America are about $100-$300 more than prices for travel that starts in Europe.

The fares are also available for United and Air Canada operated flights, but why go there especially if United may kill your dog…..

Miles & More announces bonus deal for Lufthansa flights!

Miles & More announces bonus deal for Lufthansa flights!

Good News!

Miles & More has announced that Lufthansa passengers can earn an additional 50% award mile bonus for flights booked between March 12 and May 31, 2018.

The offer is valid as long as travel has been booked on Lufthansa.com and that the flights takes place between March 12 and August 30, 2018.   The flights must be operated by Lufthansa in order to qualify for the bonus miles.

The bonus will be based off of your fare class, so the award will be a factor of the fare class, and not actual miles flown.

You must provide your Miles & More number at the time of booking in order for you to qualify for the bonus miles.    The bonus miles will be credited as late as 12 weeks after your qualifying flights.    And of course, bonus miles do not count toward status qualification.

One small part of the fine print:   Residents of Austria, Switzerland and the 13 people living in Lichtenstein are not eligible for the promotion.

£15 Voucher for EX-UK Travel On LUFTHANSA

£15 Voucher for EX-UK Travel On LUFTHANSA

To help celebrate Mother’s Day in the UK this Sunday, Lufthansa is offering a £15 voucher good towards Lufthansa travel originating from the UK.

The voucher is good for flights booked between March 8 and 12, 2018.   When booking, use the code ZTCTQ4L39R12 and that should reflect the £15 discount when you check out.

In reading the very fine print, it suggests that the voucher is only good for Economy Class bookings, but if history repeats itself the terms are sometimes wrong and voucher would be usable on any fare.

Coming This Summer From Lufthansa: Sushi In Economy Class!

Coming This Summer From Lufthansa: Sushi In Economy Class!

Lufthansa has announced that they will be introducing an ‘A La Carte’ menu for passengers traveling in Premium Economy or Economy class on long haul flights out of Frankfurt and Munich.

The program will be similar to what is offered by Austrian, where passengers can order specific meals ahead of their flights.

The Lufthansa version of this program will begin this May, and will give passengers the option to order one of several unique meals for their flights.    As far as pricing is concerned, expect to pay between $20 and $35 per meal.

The menu will cover a wide range of options including Sushi served in Bento Boxes, Mediterranean Seafood, Thai curry, Bavarian specialities, an Asian ‘vitality’ meal, or simply a grilled steak.

The meals can be ordered as part of your booking process.  Orders need to be placed at least 24 hours prior to your departure.

The standard, complimentary economy or premium economy meals will be available as usual for passengers not wishing to purchase the ‘A La Carte’ option.

LUFTHANSA Will Be Tweaking The New Livery

LUFTHANSA Will Be Tweaking The New Livery

Lufthansa has confirmed that it will adjust the new livery after seeing it in action over the past few weeks.

The biggest criticism that most people had was that the Blue on the tail was too dark, and would look black in many cases.    Lufthansa agrees and has decided to modify the Blue to be a lighter color that will reflect as a proper blue in most daylight conditions.

No time frame has been set as Lufthansa wants this update to be the last one for a long time.   I suspect it will be several weeks of trial and error before they settle on the final shade of blue.

When I saw it in Frankfurt, it was fine in direct sunlight, however in any overcast condition, the blue did indeed become very dark and unless you knew the tail was supposed to be blue, it would be easy to mistake it for a black tail.

So when all is said and done, what matters most is that my ‘Herpa’ desktop model of the original, darker new livery has just become an instant collectors item!  🙂
