UNITED Mileage Plus MILES SALE! 100% Bonus! LH First Class?

UNITED Mileage Plus MILES SALE! 100% Bonus! LH First Class?

Need those extra few miles for a Lufthansa First Class Ticket?

Until May 27, United’s Mileage Plus is offering a bonus of up to 100% of award miles purchased for your account.   The sale is tiered whereby you will get a 25% bonus for buying between 5000 and 19000 miles, a 50% bonus for buying between 20,000 and 39,000 miles and a fantastic 100% bonus for buying 40,000 or more miles.   Keep in mind you can buy up to 150,000 miles per year per account.

At the most lucrative level, the 100% bonus tier, you’ll wind up only paying 1.88 cents per mile (including taxes).   Well below the threshold for what is considered a good deal.

UNITED Mileage Plus MILES SALE! 100% Bonus! LH First Class?

UNITED Miles Sale: Up To 80% Bonus (2.1 Cents Per Mile)

Until April 25, United is offering Mileage Plus members the opportunity to top off their account balances with a fairly attractive miles sale.   The sale is tiered, so the more miles you buy, the greater your discount.

Purchasing between 5000 and 9000 miles will earn you a 20% mileage bonus (3.1 Cents Per Mile including taxes).

Purchasing between 10000 and 19000 miles will earn you a 40% mileage bonus (2.8 Cents Per Mile including taxes).

Purchasing between 20000 and 80000 miles will earn you an 80% mileage bonus (2.1 Cents Per Mile including taxes).

As you can see, the best option is at the 20,000+ mile purchase level.   The deal is not necessarily the best that’s ever existed but if you are short a few miles for that Lufthansa First Class ticket, this kind of a sale is an economical way to fill the gap.

You can buy up to 80,000 miles (plus the 80% bonus) with this specific sale with an annual limit of 150,000 miles that can be purchased.

Miles do not count towards status level, they are strictly award miles.

UNITED Mileage Plus Miles Sale….As Low As 1.9CPM! Ends Tomorrow!

There’s one more day left to take advantage of United’s offer to buy miles for as low as 1.9 cents per mile (CPM).    The raw number is actually about 1.7 CPM but when you factor in the taxes/fees it adds a couple of tenths.

The discount is based on the amount of miles purchased and is tiered as follows:

Buy 5,000 – 9,000 miles:    Get 25% bonus
Buy 10,000 – 29,000 miles:  Get 50% bonus
Buy 30,000 – 75,000 miles:  Get 100% bonus

It’s once you buy 30,000 miles or more that you’ll get the CPMs under .02 cents, which makes it a very attractive opportunity to top off your balances.

Keep in mind that you can buy up to 150,000 miles a year, so if you have any room left, then you might want to take advantage of this deal.

And you know the best way to spend them right?  😉    I’m thinking Lufthansa First or Business Class award bookings!

Miles & More Members: Earn An Easy, Extra 100 Miles Per Hotel Stay

Miles & More Members: Earn An Easy, Extra 100 Miles Per Hotel Stay

Most of you have probably come across this opportunity, but for those of you who have not, here is a way to add 100 miles to you Miles & More balance for each of your Hotel stays.

I’m referring to the relationship that Miles & More has with HolidayCheck.de, a German-based hotel and travel review website.    By simply visiting their website and spending no more than 5 minutes reviewing a hotel, you’ll earn 100 miles.

The website lets you add your review for any stay that you have had in the past 25 months and is based on the honor system in that there is no verification made regarding your stay.   The website simple reviews your review to make sure that it meets their criteria for being informative and complete.

The process is fairly easy.  Once you set up your online profile with HolidayCheck, all you need to do is go to their Hotel Review page, search for your hotel, and provide your ratings and comments.  You’ll have the option to provide either a brief review or one with more details.   Once complete, you enter your Miles & More number and once approved, your miles are credited within 2 weeks.

Considering most hotel stays offer only miles based on dollars spent or flat rate per stay, using this program can increase your actual miles earned from hotel stays by upwards of 30-100%.

A word of advice:  I would not attempt to create a bunch of fictitious stays just to run up your miles balances.   If they catch on to a pattern that suggests fraud, it can result in your account being closed and it could ruin the program for everyone.

A few caveats about the program:

You are limited to 10 hotel reviews a month, so basically if you have 120 hotel stays to review, you’ll earn 12,000 miles each year.  When I do the miles per minute calculation (assuming 5 minutes per review), you will earn about 20 miles per minute spent providing your feedback.  I’m not sure there are many of us that could claim 120 hotel stays in a year, but this the limitation of the program.

You’ll notice that the website is in German so you may want to enable your browser to automatically translate the webpage for you if German is not your forte.
