As part of the media blitz during the unveiling of their new Premium Economy seat last week in Berlin, Lufthansa has published a video providing a virtual tour of the new seat and cabin layout. In case you missed the announcement regarding the new seat, you can get caught up by reading my previous piece on the topic.
The video runs for about a minute but covers the key details of the new seat.

Does anyone know if the very first row (bulk head) in Premium economy is the only row that has actual leg rest on the A300 version 1? Seems like all other rows have a little metal foot rest only. It seems it might be worth requesting this row on an overnight flight to make it more comfy for sleeping. I have heard that it only has a slightly less legroom. Your thoughts would be appreciated.
The bulkhead seats have the foot rest fold out from beneath your seat. In all other rows the foot rest is in the frame of the seat in front of you. The footrest in the bulkhead seats in my opinion is too close and does not extend far enough to be comfortable. I’m 5’11” and the foot rest does not let me comfortably rest my feet. It looks like you get better stretching of your feet with the foot rest in the non-bulkhead rows.
I have a mileage plus account and am thinking about flying Luthansa LH 419 to Europe and return on LH 418 between Washington, DC and Frankfurt. I will have an X ticket and would purchase an economy ticket with my mileage plus reward points. It is possible to upgrade to your economy plus seats for an extra fee.? If so, how much would that cost.
My wife and I would be traveling in Sept-October of this year. Thank you.

Currently, you cannot use UA MP miles or cash to upgrade to an Premium Eco seat on LH. Sorry.
Nice and the image showed A340 cabin.
Oh my is that “premium economy” compared to Delta’s Economy Comfort that is the same seat just a little more pitch and space. That is a seat worth paying extra for compared to Delta’s that is only better if it is FREE. Impressive (but I still like LH 1st class better)!
How long before Premium Economy ends up looking like Business, and then corporate travel policies put the kibosh on Business (which many ended up doing especially after the recent crisis)? And then biz travelers are back in Premium Economy, causing airlines to compete and upgrade Premium Economy while Business ends up looking like First?
It’s just funny looking at this cycle.
Its like the saying goes, what is once old is new again! 🙂
Interesting how in the still image config is 2-3-2 while in the 747-8i it will be 2-4-2 in fact. 🙂
nice hybrid 747-330?
Nice! It’s better than UA Economy Plus, IMO
I agree, its nice because its a distinctly different seat. not just more pitch.
Much needed arm rest and that’s a generous space
