Ringing into my email inbox just a few minutes ago was an email from Lufthansa highlighting a fare sale to India with some attractive pricing. One fare that is especially attractive is a sub $1000 fare from Orlando to New Dehli.
The fare sale ends on August 22, so only a week to take advantage of the promotion. Please follow this link to the Fare Sale Webpage.
When comparing the Lufthansa Fares to other Alliances and Airlines, these fares typically were $300-$600 lower than the next best fares. Please note there is a wide range of fare price difference, so your experience may vary based on the dates that you choose.
Other Terms/Conditions:
You must depart between August 16 and December 9, 2012.
You must return between August 16 and January 9, 2013.
Advance Purchase Period is only 1 day.
Carriers can include Air Canada, Lufthansa, Austrian, Swiss or United (however I am seeing Brussels Airlines come up on fare searches as well).
Maximum stay is 30 days.
Saturday night stay is required.

In reports out of Frankfurt, speculation is starting to build around yet another delay in the opening of Berlin’s new Brandenburg Airport.
According to an article published on Reuters.com, Stakeholders in the facility are suggesting that the March 17, 2013 opening date is in jeopardy. Previously, the Airport was set to open in October 2011 but was postponed only a few weeks before the opening date due to issues with the Fire Suppression System.
A meeting of the Supervisory Board is scheduled to take place on Thursday, but according to the Reuters article, no new dates are expected to be announced. If there is anything substantial that comes of the meeting, I’ll post a follow up story.
Brandeburg Airport is due to replace Berlin’s Tegel and Schoenefeld airports once it is finally open.
