Lufthansa has once again been forced to published an amended timetable to reflect the impact of the third consecutive day of strikes that have forced Lufthansa to cancel thousands of flights.
The new timetable can be found by following this link.
As always, If your flights have been affected, you’ll have the option to rebook via LH.com, calling your local Lufthansa reservation office, or your travel agent. Most stories that I hear from passengers affected by the strike suggest that it was fairly easy for them to be re-accommodated.
and…
How can I know if a flight tomorrow mornign at 10am from Frankfurt to LAX will takeoff or be cancelled ?
just visit the link in the post and look up your flight number
My sister had a flight BHX-VIE via MUC on 23 Nov. We tried to re-book via the Lufthansa webpage, but it did not log our new flight correctly on two successive days. It was necessary and is highly advisable to phone; we had to keep trying for half an hour until we entered the phone queue and then waited another 20-30 mins. Advisers were helpful and re-booked my sister in the end for Brussels and Austrian Airline, but did not tell us that she now was booked at Brussels Airline; we never received the confirmation e-mail and the Lufthansa site did not have her new booking; we eventually tried Brussels Airways web check-in and all went smoothly. A simple advise would have avoided a lot of aggro.
Not even close! It has been a bad experience and the alternative provided have been horrible. I’m stuck in kiev in a hotel where I will have to sleep with my clothes on because of how dirty the hotel is. When I ask to be relocated, I was told they couldn’t do that because this the only hotel they have an agreement with. As of. Ow, I will loose a day of work, miss important meetings and stay in a horrible hotel in the middle of nowhere. Normally, I don’t subject myself to feeling like a victim, and normally I would just pay from my own pocket for a new hotel and pledge to never use your airline again and to share my story with my friends, but in the freezing cold weather, with no taxis or Uber around, and not a lot of energy left in me right now, all I can do is be ok with feeling like a victim like lots of your customers. But I can definitely pledge not to ever take your airline again and to share my story to coworkers and friends.
“Most stories that I hear from passengers affected by the strike suggest that it was fairly easy for them to be re-accommodated.” Really???!!! You clearly didn’t have a look at Lufthansa facebook page! So many many people saying that it is almost impossible to conect with Lufthansa staff
Fair enough. I look at other places like FlyerTalk.com where perhaps more experienced travelers who know how react when these things happen will post their experiences. Unfortunately FB visitors to LH are typical inexperienced travelers who may be a bit more nervous than someone whose been through this a few too many times!
