BRUSSELS Airlines has announced that beginning with the Spring 2016 timetable, passengers will be able to enjoy their hospitality between Brussels and TORONTO!
Thanks to the addition of 2 A330 aircraft to the fleet next year, SN will offer service between BRU and YYZ 5 times a week.
Flight details have not yet been loaded into their booking engines, but I expect that to happen shortly.
In addition to the new route, SN is also planning to expand service between Brussels and Washington DC from 5 times a week to 6 times a week.
AND….
Due to the fact that JET Airways will no longer serve Toronto or Newark via Brussels, SN has filled in the void for BRU by entering codeshare agreements with United and Air Canada. United will add a second flight between Newark and Brussels, while Air Canada will be a code share partner on SN’s flights between Toronto and Brussels.
AND….
Expect a codeshare announcement between Brussels and Air India for service between Brussels and Mumbai.
AND….
With the addition of more A330s to the long haul fleet, expect new route announcements to destinations in Africa, including Gabon and Nigeria. There may be even a few more African surprises announced in the near future.
SN is a great airline and I love their business class product. Have flown them a few times form JFK – with connections on UA PS service to SFO. When United pulled out of JFK – I was hoping SN would also switch to EWR – gives them more connections on SA carrier UA…but no. Really wish they would reconsider – I found their Biz class far superior to UA’s BF class.
Any other destinations planned in the US or US west coast ?
They’re one of my favorites in Biz as well. As far as I know, there are no more plans for US expansion for 2016. While they will add A330s to the inventory, they’ll be focusing on filling in some gaps in Africa.
