Since Lufthansa launched BLUE LEGENDS, I’ve had many USA based Blue Legend users email me voicing their disappointment that they could not participate actively when flying on non-Lufthansa operated flights in the USA. In order to “Check In” for a flight on Blue Legends, a Lufthansa flight number is required. This included codeshare flight numbers for flights operated by United and US Airways.
To that end, I’ve been able to assemble a complete list of codeshare flight numbers that Lufthansa uses for flights operated by United and US Airways. I’ve made these lists available as dedicated pages on my website. The links below update the codeshare flight numbers for January flights.
For United Operated Flights: “BLUE LEGENDS: Lufthansa Codeshare Flight Numbers For United Flights”
For US Airways Operated Flights: “BLUE LEGENDS: Lufthansa Codeshare Flight Numbers For US Airway Flights”
If you are unfamiliar with Blue Legends, I encourage you to visit the app’s website or read my post on Blue Legends.
There are a few things to keep in mind with these lists:
Lufthansa does not have a codeshare flight number for every United or US Airways operated flight.
Lufthansa updates their codeshare flight numbers monthly and I’ll update my list to reflect the changes (I’ll let you know when I’ve updated the pages).
The list only contains the LH codeshare flight number, origin and destination and does not contain departure or arrival time information. You’ll need to cross reference your own itinerary and match it up to the appropriate LH code share flight number.
If you have any questions or need help with Blue Legends, feel free to e-mail me or leave a comment on this post.

Following on the heels of a ‘sick out’ last week, French Unions are calling on LH employees in France to strike from Friday through Sunday in protest to the potential outsourcing of ground operations jobs at Charles DeGaulle (CDG) airport. Should the strike occur, LH may be forced to cancel some or all of their 17 daily flights to and from CDG.
Should your travels be affected this weekend, you can call the LH USA service center on 1-800-645-3880 or if you are in France, you can contact LH’s French offices on +33 892 231 690 to determine what options are available to you including refunds and reaccommodations.

On my recent 4 day / 10+ segment mileage run that took me to Washington DC, Frankfurt, Vienna, Zurich, Lisbon, Newark and finally home to GRR, I had a great opportunity to visit Zurich’s beautiful Observation Deck atop Terminal B.
I’ll have more on the observation deck in a future post since it merits a better and more detailed looked. For now, I’ll share some of the images I was able to capture during my 2 hour visit to the deck. I had a 4 hour layover so I did not have as much time as I would like but I took what I could get (and I wish I had packed ‘BIGMA’). Safe to say now that I’ve had my first taste, I’ll be back for a 1 or 2 day visit in the spring when another area on the airport is open for spotting as well.
For now enjoy some of what I saw in ‘ZRH’! :
A face off between the 747SP of the former ruler of Qatar and a ‘Jumbolino’
Turkish operator ‘tailwind’
Taken through glass hence the ghosting near the engines, but still a good catch!
This was the ‘Best Of Show’ while I was in ZRH. This 747SP is the private aircraft of the former ruler of Qatar.
