BRUSSELS Expands Sukhoi SSJ100 Coverage

BRUSSELS Expands Sukhoi SSJ100 Coverage

After initially deploying wet-leased Sukhoi SSJ100 Superjets on several routes in Europe, Brussels Airlines has announced additional cities that will see the aircraft.

Beginning in June 2017 Bastia, Manchester, Stockholm (Bromma), and Strasbourg will have ‘SN’ flights operated by the SSJ100.

The SSJ100 is a short term solution as Brussels Airlines begins its phase-out of the Avro RJ100 ‘Jumbolino’ and begins to receive narrow body Airbus aircraft over the next several months as their replacement.

SWISS Summer Business Class Sale Starts Today!

SWISS Summer Business Class Sale Starts Today!

SWISS has launched their Business Class fare sale between the USA and Europe that covers travel between May and August.

Most fares from the East Coast begin in the upper $2000 range and work their way up into the low $3000 area.    Fares from the West Coast range between $3500 and the low $4000 area.

As is typical with SWISS, they do not publish any of the terms or conditions of the fares in any obvious place, so it’s hard to tell how long the fares will be available and what other conditions may exist.

Your best bet is to use something like ITA Matrix or Google Flights to see their fares illustrated in months vs. just days if you search via SWISS.com.  What I did see was the fact that the best fares were available when traveling on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday.

LUFTHANSA Gets Its 3rd A350

LUFTHANSA Gets Its 3rd A350

Lufthansa has taken delivery of their 3rd Airbus A350, D-AIXC, in Toulouse, France today.    The aircraft is scheduled to be flown to Munich tomorrow where after a short period of fine tuning, will join ‘XA’ and ‘XB’ in daily service.

The delivery of the latest A350 makes it possible for Lufthansa to begin using the A350 on its Munich – Mumbai beginning on April 15.  Ultimately 25 A350s will join the fleet and will be stationed between Frankfurt and Munich, as aircraft such as the A340 are phased out.

@LufthansaNews shared a few images from the official registration decals being applied to ‘XC’ earlier today:
