LUFTHANSA A380 w/ Premium Economy Debuts In Houston Today; LAX Next!

Lufthansa today has sent their first Premium Economy equipped A380 into circulation when it departed Frankfurt and flew towards Houston.

For the next 2-3 weeks, Houston will see a fair amount of D-AIMF/Zurich (the specific A380 with the new PE seats).   Beginning on April 9th, a Premium Economy equipped A380 will become a permanent fixture in Houston.

As plans stand now, Lufthansa will introduce its second A380 with Premium Economy on flights between FRA and LAX at the end of March and ALL A380s will have Premium Economy installed by April 22.  Each A380 will be equipped with 52 Premium Economy seats on the main deck.

LUFTHANSA has announced that it will add their new Premium Economy cabin to 6 new destinations beginning with the Winter 2015/16 timetable.

Beginning on December 16, 2015 the following routes will feature Premium Economy aboard the A340-300 aircraft that will will fly to these destinations:

 

Frankfurt – Dallas

Frankfurt – Luanda

Frankfurt – Nanjing

Frankfurt – Osaka 

Frankfurt – Seattle

Frankfurt – Shenyang – Qingdao

LUFTHANSA Delays Rollout On Certain Premium Economy Routes Set To Debut In 2015

A few days ago, Lufthansa provided their latest update concerning the introduction of the Premium Economy cabin aboard their long haul fleet.   Originally, routes being flown by A330-300 aircraft were set to fully debut Premium Economy by October 25, 2015 but that rollout has now been delayed to December 1, 2015.    This includes all A330 aircraft that operate out of Frankfurt and Munich.

 

Here is the list of routes that are affected by this update:
