Star Alliance Route Announcements: March 24 – March 31

 

The last week resulted in a few announcements from 7 Star Alliance member airlines.   Nothing dramatic from anyone other than TAP announcing 2 new destinations for the summer and United temporarily suspending some of their Guam activity.

 

AIR CANADA (ROUGE):

Vancouver – Phoenix effective December 17 will begin 1x/day service.

 

ASIANA:

 Seoul Incheon – Hanoi effective May 15 will increase from 11x/week to 14x/week.

 Seoul Incheon – Sydney effective May 6 will be reduced from 1x/day to 5x/week.

EGYPTAIR:

 Cairo – Jakarta effective April 17 will begin 4x/week service.

 

TAP:

Lisbon – Asturias effective July 1 will begin 6x/week service.

Lisbon – St. Petersburg effective July 1 will begin 3x/week service.

 

THAI:

Bangkok – Brisbane effective August 1 will be reduced from 1x/day to 5x/week.

Bangkok – Manila effective March 30 will be reduced from 10x/week to 7x/week.

Bangkok – Perth effective March 30 will be reduced from 1x/day to 6x/week.

 

 TURKISH:

Istanbul – Ganja effective April 2 will increase from 3x/week to 6x/week.

 

UNITED:

Guam – Hiroshima effective between March 31 and July 19 is cancelled.

Guam — Niigata effective between March 29 and July 18 is cancelled.

Houston – Lagos effective May 5 will increase from 6x/week to 1x/day.

Newark – Binghamton effective June 5 will begin 3x/day service.

Star Alliance Route Announcements: March 17 – March 23

A relatively light week for Star Alliance member announcements. Austrian led the way with the announcement of 4 new flights to Antalya from various Austrian cities. I expect the pace to pick up as carriers begin to focus on their winter 2014/15 schedules in the next few weeks.

 

 

AIR CANADA:

Toronto – Caracas effective March 18 has been canceled indefinitely.

Toronto – Cleveland effective June 15 increases from 3x/day to 5x/day  (EXCEPT Saturday which stays at 3x/Day).

 

ASIANA:

Seoul Incheon – Ningbo effective between April 2 and June 25 will operate 2x/week (as a charter).

 

AUSTRIAN:

Graz – Antalya effective June 4 will begin 1x/week service (Wednesday).

Innsbruck – Antalya effective April 26 will begin 1x/week service (Saturday).

Klagenfurt -Antalya effective June 14 will begin 1x/week service (Saturday).

Linz – Antalya effective March 25 will begin 1x/week service (Sunday).

 

EGYPTAIR:

 Cairo – N’Djamena has been canceled.  Originally it was planned as a 3x/week service beginning April 1.

 

SINGAPORE :

Singapore – Milan effective between June 17 and August 29 will be increased from 5x/week to 7x/week.

 

SOUTH AFRICAN (SA Airlink):

 Cape Town – George effective June 2 will increase from 3x/day to 4x/day (Weekdays ONLY!).  Weekend service remains unchanged.

 

TAM:

Buenos Aires Ezeiza – Asuncion effective March 30 will begin 1x/day service.

 

THAI:

Bangkok – Sydney effective April 29 will be reduced from 12x/week to 10x/week.

Bangkok – Dubai effective July 1 to July 22 will be reduced from 7x/week to 6x/week (No Tuesday flight).

 

TURKISH:

 Istanbul(IST) – Bordeaux effective June 28 will begin 4x/week service.

AIR CHINA:

Beijing – Jeju effective June 11 will BEGIN 4x/week service.
Beijing – Jejy effective July 7 will increase from 4x/week to 1x/DAY.
Beijing – Ulan Baatar effective July 1 will increase from 12x/week to 14x/week.

 

AIR NEW ZEALAND:

Auckland – Tokyo(NRT) effective November 16 will increase from 7x/week to 10x/week.

 

AVIANCA:

Bogota – Caracas effective April 1 will be reduced from 3x/day to 1x/day.
Bogota – Valencia effective April 4 will be reduced from 1x/day to 1x/week.
Bogota – Valencia effective May 3 is CANCELLED.
Bogota – Villvicencio effective July 10 will BEGIN 2x/day service.
San Jose (Costa Rica) – Caracas effective April 1 is CANCELLED.

 

ETHIOPIAN:

Addis Ababa – Seychelles effective September 28 will BEGIN 3x/week service.

 

TURKISH:

Istanbul – Nairobi effective June 16 will increase from 7x/week to 11x/week.

 

UNITED:

Denver – Jamestown – Devils Lake effective June 5 will BEGIN 11x/week service.
