We’ve finally reached the Championship Match for the Airport World Cup and it promises to be an outstanding contest. Hong Kong and Singapore have battled through their competitors and are now set to face off against each other for the title. Thanks again to everyone who has particpated.

This morning, Lufthansa’s newest aircraft, the Boeing 747-8i, entered passenger service as it departed Frankfurt and flew to Washington D.C. I had the opportunity to use Frankfurt’s Observation Terrace to capture the moments. Safe to say I had some serious goosebumps!
Currently I am enroute to Vienna and then on to Slovakia to visit with family. Over the next few days I’ll go into more details around the Lufthansa events in Frankfurt surrounding this inaugural flight. I also have video I captured showing the new plane being Christened by Frankfurt’s Fire Trucks. YouTube is asking for 2 hours to render the video, so it will have to wait until later. For now, here are some of the 527 photos I took just from this morning’s departure…..

The last Semi-Final match has Singapore squaring off against Amsterdam. The match will end on 31 May at 8:00p US eastern time.

So far things have fallen into place predictably but its setting up for a fantastic final regardless of who advances.
For the Semi-Final, if a match results in a tie, I will run a “best out of 5” random number generator “overtime” to determine the winner.
