SkyTeam and oneworld Route Updates

Some recent changes over the past few days…..

SkyTeam:

Aeroflot:

Moscow(SVO)-Beijing effective August 31 will increase from 14x/week to 16x/week.

Alitalia:

Rome-Moscow(SVO) effective March 25 will increase from 14x/week to 16x/week
Rome-Moscow(SVO) effective June 1 will increase from 16x/week to 19x/week.

China Airlines:

Taipei-Sanya effective March 25 will increase from 2x/week to 5x/week.

China Eastern:

Shanghai-Niigata effective March 25 increases from 2x/week to 4x/week.
Shanghai-Okinawa effective March 25 increases from 6x/week to 1x/DAILY.
Shanghai-Shizuoka effective March 25 increases from 2x/week to 4x/week.

China Southern:

Beijing-Hong Kong effective March 2 1x/day service will be served by an A380. Previously this route was flown by an A321.

oneworld:

Iberia:

Madrid-Las Palmas-Nouakchott effective April 26 begins 2x/week service.
Madrid-Accra effective June 1 begins 2x/week service.

Royal Jordanian:

Amman-Lagos-Accra: New 2x/week service has been RESCHEDULED to start June 2 instead of March 31.

Siberia – A 30,000 Foot Perspective…

Last week on my flight to Hong Kong, there was a confluence of events that led to a great opportunity to capture some great images of Siberia. First, the flight path took us a bit more “over the top” than is normal for the route. Second, we were cruising at only 30,000 feet. Third, I had a CLEAN window. No scratches, streaks or frost crystals. Finally, and most importantly, it was clear.

Combining these elements led to hours of spectacular viewing. Literally every blink of an eye led to another great scene. I’ve filtered out some of the best ones from the 100 or so that I took while we were cruising over Siberia. Enjoy!
