Reminder! United’s attractive mileage sale for MileagePlus members only has a few days left. At up to a 75% bonus, it’s one of the better deals that we’ll see from them. Additionally, any purchase of miles enters you to win 1,000,000 miles!
The deal is tiered so the more miles you buy, the better the discount.
The brackets break down as follows:
If you buy between 5,000 and 14,000 miles, you’ll get a 25% miles bonus and 1 entry into the sweepstakes.
If you buy between 15,000 and 29,000 miles you’ll get a 50% miles bonus and 1 entry into the sweepstakes.
If you buy between 30,000 and 85,000 miles you’ll earn a 75% miles bonus and 2 entries into the sweepstakes.
In doing the math you’ll pay about 2.8 cents per mile (CPM) if you buy between 5,000 and 14,000 miles (plus 25% bonus). Buying between 15,000 and 29,000 miles (plus 50% bonus) will give you a CPM of 2.3 cents. Buying over 30,000 miles (plus 50% bonus) will net you a cost of 2 cents per mile.
The promo is set to expire on March 9, 2018. You can buy 150,000 miles per year per Mileage Plus account, and the miles you buy do not count towards status attainment.

United has launched a miles sale promo for MileagePlus members that will award you with up to 75% more miles when you purchase miles for your account.
The promo is tiered so the more miles you purchase the better the bonus becomes. In addition to the bonus, you’ll get 1 or 2 entries into a contest that will award its winner 1,000,000 miles which is plenty for a few First Class roundtrips on Lufthansa!

If 2 or 3 mileage sales wasn’t enough in the past few weeks….
United has announced yet another Mileage Sale that will last until the end of the year….guaranteeing that there will not be another sale that starts before 2018.
For this latest version, if you buy 70,000 to 75,000 miles you’ll receive a 100% miles bonus. At a cost of $2625.00 for 75,000 miles, that equates to a cost per mile of 1.75 cents when you factor in the bonus miles at the 70k to 75k mileage level.
As always, the promo is tiered. If you buy between 5,000 and 19,000 miles you’ll get a 25% bonus. Between 20,000 and 39,000 miles you’ll get 40%, between 40k and 69,000 you’ll get a 75% bonus and 70k or over gets you a 100% bonus.
The sale ends midnight on December 31, 2017. If you let the last few sales pass by, you might want to take advantage of this one. You can buy 150,000 miles a year including the bonus miles. The ‘clock’ resets to 0 on January 1, 2018 allowing you buy another 150k in the new year.
