Lufthansa has begun installation of it’s new business class cabin in its A380 fleet this week. The first Airbus A380, D-AIMF or “ZURICH” has gone into maintenance and will be retrofitted over the next 2-3 weeks.
Based on previous info from LH, the Business Class seats/units will be parallel to each other on the A380 whereas on the 747-8i each seat pair turns inward towards each other.
Additionally the aircraft will under go other routine maintenance so that she is back in the air as good as new. “ZURICH” entered service with LH on October 18, 2010.
When will the retrofit of the 747-400s begin?
Hopefully i get the “new” a380 when i will fly to miami in august 😉
What’s the difference in number of seats vs. the old configuration?
I ‘BELIEVE’ it will be the same amount of seats, but I will check to confirm.
what type of business class seats are they installing ? is it similar to the 747-8i ? also when do you anticipate the entire fleet of a380 be completed with the new seats ?thanks
The seats will be identical, except that each pair should be/will be parallel to each other instead of pointing inwards towards each other.
The retrofit could take 1.5 to 2 years. I don’t think there is a firm date for completion.
Finally!
no doubt!
