Lufthansa has announced that it will continue to serve the Charlotte market with daily service to Munich. It will continue to provide a 3-class A340-600 on the route. This was widely expected and comes on the heels of US Airways moving to OneWorld as a result of its merger with American.
Additionally, LH passengers will be able continue to fly on US Airways on the same itinerary as their LH flights so no additionally reservations will need to be made for passengers connecting in CLT for onward travel on US. This will continue for the rest of 2014.
As part of this relationship extension Lufthansa Passengers will also be able to access the US Airways lounge in Charlotte as well.
I suspect that this relationship will end at the end of the year but service between MUC and CLT should continue beyond 2014.
Any plans to upgrade equipment on the ATL to FRA route? Curious to know what are the load factors for that route…
So are you coming back to Portland Oregon anytime soon?
Not likely unfortunately. Even Seattle load factors are not impressing right now.
Do all these have the updated biz class?
The odds are improving since a significant number of A340s based in Munich have been retrofitted. But CLT is not yet seeing the new C on a regular basis. You can use this link:

to see if a specific LH flight will have the new C product.
