Lufthansa is running a quick fare sale that ends next Tuesday for travel from Germany to the USA. The sale covers certain North American destinations including Boston, New York, Washington DC, Las Vegas ,Seattle, Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver and Mexico City.
Fares start at €499 for Boston. €529 for New York and reach to €679 for Mexico City (Plan correctly, and you can fly on the 747-8i which debuts in MEX in September!).
The fare sale ends August 6 and is valid for departures between November 1, 2013 and March 31, 2014. You must return between November 7, 2013 and June 30, 2014. Exclusion/Black out dates apply and are as follows: December 19 to December 22, 2013 and January 1 to January 6, 2014.

Landing in my ‘inbox’ a few minutes ago was a decent fare sale for travel from Austria to the West Coast (including Las Vegas). The travel period for these fares is from November 1 to December 18 and from December 23 to March 31. Fares from Vienna to Las Vegas start as low as €646 and go as high as €699 for Vienna / Los Angeles or San Diego. San Francisco fares start as low as €679 for departures from Vienna.
If you plan to depart from other gateways in Austria (Graz, Innsbruck, Salzburg, etc), expect to pay about €30-50 more.
Please note that AUSTRIAN does not serve these destinations directly. Connecting flights to these destinations will be operated by United from AUSTRIAN’s USA Gateways: New York, Chicago, Washington DC.
The terms and conditions of the sale are as follows:

Lufthansa has just launched a Fall Fare Sale valid for travel between the USA and a variety of European destinations. The most attractive fares tend to be from New York where fares start in the mid $700 range for destinations such as Krakow, Istanbul and Warsaw. Fares from the West Coast start as low as $989 (San Francisco to Copenhagen) and trend upwards into the $1100-$1200 range. The fares are valid for travel between August 25 and October 26, which in my opinion is the best time to visit Europe. Temperatures dip, the tourists have gone home and much better deals can be found as far as hotels and lodging are concerned. The FARE SALE is only in place until July 11.
Terms and conditions apply and are as follows:

You must depart between August 25 and October 26, 2013.
You must return between September 1 and November 26, 2013.
Tickets must be purchased 14 days ahead of departure (non-issue since fare sale ends 6 weeks before first eligible departure date).

Austrian is running a 48-hour fare sale for fall and winter travel from Austria to a variety of North American destinations. In addition to OS’ North American gateways such as New York, Washington DC, Chicago, etc. the fare sale covers destinations such as Las Vegas, Seattle, Ottawa and other cities throughout the US and Canada.
Fares start as low as €450 for travel between Vienna and Atlanta and go as high as the mid €700 range for destinations such as San Francisco or Las Vegas.
The fare sale has a blackout period between December 19 and 22 and again between January 2 and January 6. This is typical because of the peak Christmas travel period that takes place right before and shortly after the holiday. Outside of these blackout windows, the fare are valid for travel beginning October 1 through March 31, 2014.
The fare sale requires at least a Saturday night stay. The maximum stay for this fare sale is 3 months.

Lufthansa has launched an attractive fare sale from the USA to it’s 17 destinations in Italy. This particular sale runs between now and September 4 and is valid for travel between August 25 and October 26.
Personally this is my favorite time of year to travel to Europe and it’s when most of our trips take place. What makes it my favorite time is that the late summer and early fall marks the end of the “High Summer” travel season. Tourists, prices and temperatures recede creating a far more enjoyable atmosphere.
Over the last couple of years I’ve had the good fortune of visiting some of Italy’s greatest places. We have experienced Venice, Rome, Vatican City (I know, technically not in Italy), Poveglia Island, Sorrento, Capri, Naples (including a great visit to Pompeii) and other parts of the Amalfi coast (click each link for my trip reports). Each of these cities and areas have unique experiences that await their visitors which makes Italy such a wonderful place to visit. Every city and region has their own identity and culture!
Back to the Fare Sale…
Fares during this sale start as low as $1109 (Charlotte to Rome). Fares from most other East Coast Lufthansa gateways range in the low $1200 range. If you’re traveling from the West Coast, your fares will range between $1300 and $1369. For you mileage junkies, the best value on a ‘cost per mile’ basis would obviously come from starting your travels from the west coast.
