Austrian has a handful of attractive fares valid for booking this week for travel from Vienna to Istanbul, Dubrovnik, Leipzig or Stuttgart.
Fares start at €117 from Vienna to Stuttgart or Leipzig (roundtrip/taxes inclusive), between Vienna and Istanbul it’s €161 and Vienna-Dubrovnik is €227. These low fares are available for travel throughout the year (except for Leipzig) with plenty of availability at this point. If you are planning a trip to OR within Europe in the coming months, it may be a good idea to take advantage of some of these fares now.
The only minor restrictions that I see for these fares is that the maximum stay is 12 months and the minimum stay must include 1 Saturday night. Keep in mind that the flights may be operated by Austrian, germanwings or Tyrolean. In the case of Vienna-Istanbul, flights may be operated by Austrian or Turkish.
Use this link to visit Austrian’s Fare Sale. When you reach the page, select AUSTRIA in the “Show Offers From” menu, then select VIENNA in the “From:” menu then drop down the “Special Name” menu and select “Offers of the Week” to be taken to booking page for these fares.
Your screen should look something like this once you’re done selecting the options:

Lufthansa’s not wasting anytime in offering attractive fares for those of you looking to travel to the USA in the 4th quarter of this year. By planning and committing ahead you can save a few Euro with this fare sale. The fare special covers departures from most German cities to the following North American destinations: Atlanta, Chicago, Las Vegas, New York, Washington DC, Toronto, Montreal and Mexico City.
The lowest fares are ex-Dusseldorf. For example Dusseldorf-New York is only €479 and Dusseldorf-Chicago is only €499. The most expensive city combination is Frankfurt-Mexico City for which the roundtrip airfare is €679. Still not a bad deal.
Be mindful that with these fare specials, you will only earn 50% of the miles traveled. This is typical when fares are put on sale like this but should not deter you from taking advantage of the opportunity.
For this fare sale the terms and conditions are as follows:
Ticket must be purchased by April 2, 2013.
You must depart between October 1 and December 31, 2013.
You must return between October 6, 2013 and March 13, 2014.
Saturday night stay is required .
Maximum stay is 3 months.
Rebooking is not allowed and fares are non-refundable.

BRUSSELS AIRLINES is running a fare sale for intra-European travel that takes 20% off their “b.light” fares. The interesting bit about this fare sale is that it does not apply travel that originates in Brussels. Rather, it is geared for Non-Belgians to book travel either to or through Brussels to other European destination.
The fare sale covers the Easter Holiday and early Spring season and creates a compelling reason to shake off the winter cobwebs and head to some of Europe’s wonderful destinations.
The fare sale is in place until until 12 March and is valid for travel between 1 April and 31 May 2013. To be eligible for the discounted fare, you must fly on BRUSSELS operated flights. Additionally, the 20% discount applies only to the base fare and not to taxes and other fees. The discount will be applied once you select your flights and are ready to book your ticket.

THE ECONOMY FARE SALE:
Lufthansa announced an economy fare sale today that provides some of the lowest fares that you will see to some of their destinations. For example, Washington to Istanbul is only $489. Recently Istanbul has been a fare “battle ground” among several airlines making it a great time to visit this wonderful city. My wife and I spent several days there last summer and had an absolutely wonderful time. Fares to Istanbul from most East Coast cities range from $489 to $550. From the west coast, most fares to Istanbul range in the mid $800’s. Be mindful that these fares will only earn you %50 percent of the miles you travel, so going to IST solely as a mileage run is not good “mile-running economics”. However, it is a great fare if you want to go see a great city!
Moscow is also attractively priced with fares staring from only $529 from the east coast and $960 from the west coast but again be careful regarding the miles that you will earn with these fares.
Terms and Conditions apply and are as follows:
Tickets must be purchased by March 12, 2013.
You must depart between February 21 and March 31, 2013.
You must return between February 24 and April 20, 2013.
Tickets must be purchased 7 days prior to travel.
Fares are valid for travel on Air Canada, Austrian, Brussels, Swiss, United or Lufthansa.
A Saturday night stay is required.
THE BUSINESS CLASS SALE:
At the same time, Lufthansa is also running a very decent Business Class fare sale. The best pricing for fares is found for travel departing from New York, with most fares ranging between $2700 and $2900. These fares are generally the lowest that you’ll see for Business Class on Lufthansa. Fares from other US gateways start in the low $3000’s and work their way up from there. For this fare sale, New York offers the best prices (Even beating Boston in this case). The business class fares are valid on Air Canada, Austrian, Brussels Airlines, Lufthansa, Swiss or United. If you want my unsolicited advice, you’ll absolutely want to make sure that you are flying Austrian, Brussels, Lufthansa or Swiss. They’ll provide you with the best hospitality and product.
Terms and Conditions apply and are as follows:
Tickets must be purchased by March 6, 2013
You must depart between March 24 and April 5, 2013
You must return between March 31 and April 10, 2013
Tickets must be purchased 28 days prior to travel.
