SWISS Puts Spain And Italy On Sale

SWISS Puts Spain And Italy On Sale

SWISS has launched a fare sale from the US to their Spanish destinations including Madrid and Barcelona.

The best fare appears to be Boston – Barcelona for only $506.   Otherwise ‘Barca’ and Madrid can be reached for between $580 and $630 from LX’s East Coast gateways.

From the Midwest and West Coast, fares range between the mid $600 and mid $800 range.

As far as Italian destinations are concerned, prices to Rome and Venice are about $40-$100 higher than the fares to Spain.

With SWISS’ poorly designed website, it’s nearly impossible to identify the travel windows and terms/conditions for the fares.  With some trial and error, I see most of the best fares are available for late May / early June and September-October travel.

A Few Hours Remain For Ex-UK Fare Sale

A Few Hours Remain For Ex-UK Fare Sale

Today is the last day of Lufthansa’s 72-hour sale for flights originating out of the UK.

Fares from the UK to most European destination range in the £110-£130 range, however there are pockets of even better pricing such as London to Geneva for only £68 or Aberdeen to Frankfurt for £95.

The fare sale runs through Midnight tonight (April 23).    The best fares are found for mid-week travel dates and require either a Saturday night stay, or a 5 night stay.   Weekend surcharges apply if traveling Thursday – Sunday.

SWISS To Europe For As Low As $480……Business Class Sale Still On Too!

SWISS To Europe For As Low As $480……Business Class Sale Still On Too!

Swiss launched their late Spring fare sale with attractive pricing to most of their European destinations.    By far the best deals are found for flights out of Boston or New York, where $480-$550 can get you to Paris and other ‘Western’ European cities.    Fares to the rest of Europe from the East Coast range in the $550-$650 range.

From Chicago, expect to pay about $100 more than the East Coast fares to get to the same destinations.   From the West Coast, you can get to Greece, Budapest and other cities for as low $720.

As usual, SWISS is fairly cryptic with the terms and conditions for the fares, and the website is not helpful as far as navigating multiple options without needing to reset the page each time to a certain departure city.   What I was able to gather was that the fares are valid for travel between April 7 and June 5, with weekend surcharges if flying on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, or Sundays.

As a reminder, SWISS is still running their Spring Business Class fare sale with prices starting at $2500 from the East Coast to most of Europe.   You can find more details here.

Beijing, Tokyo, and most of Asia is also attractive with fares ranging between €1100 and €1300.

African destinations can be reached for as little as  €800 for Nairobi,  €1200 for Johannesburg, or €1400 for Capetown.   South American fares range between €1200 and €1500.

The fares are valid for travel between now and June 30, 2017.

SWISS Summer Business Class Sale Starts Today!

SWISS Summer Business Class Sale Starts Today!

SWISS has launched their Business Class fare sale between the USA and Europe that covers travel between May and August.

Most fares from the East Coast begin in the upper $2000 range and work their way up into the low $3000 area.    Fares from the West Coast range between $3500 and the low $4000 area.

As is typical with SWISS, they do not publish any of the terms or conditions of the fares in any obvious place, so it’s hard to tell how long the fares will be available and what other conditions may exist.

Your best bet is to use something like ITA Matrix or Google Flights to see their fares illustrated in months vs. just days if you search via SWISS.com.  What I did see was the fact that the best fares were available when traveling on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday.
