What has normally been ‘verboten’ has become a reality, at least for the time being.
Lufthansa is offering paid access to ‘SOME’ of the First Class Lounges if you meet certain criteria. This criteria requires that you be a Miles & More ‘Senator’ and be booked on a intercontinental flight in Business or Premium Economy Class.
However, before you get excited about walking into the hallowed grounds of the First Class Terminal in Frankfurt, and all the joys that one derives from being treated like an uber VIP, not every lounge is part of this promotion.
Qualifying passengers can access the First Class Lounge in Concourse ‘B’ in Frankfurt, or the First Class Lounge in Munich. The First Class Terminal, and the lounge in Concourse ‘A’ in Frankfurt are not accessible with this promotion.
Restrictions not withstanding, it’s still a great opportunity to experience Lufthansa’s First Class services on ground when normally you would not be eligible to do so.
The promotion is in place until October 29, 2017 and pricing is as follows:
Senator flying in Premium Economy Class: €299, plus €199 per guest (including children)
Senator flying Business Class: €249, plus €149 per guest (including children).
You’ll need to show your boarding pass when you arrive at the lounge, and pay the Lounge receptionist upon entry.
Ducks are included with your purchase! 🙂
why does not lufthansa use the brand new airbus a350 from newark liberty to berlin instead of j.f.k. to berlin?
Restricting Business class passengers without Senator status for paid entry to First class lounge is not correct.
I saw that coming! With all the reduction of their First Class cabins and considering that only First and Business Class miles count for the HON status, they run out of guests being allowed into the lounges. They need to fill them somehow.
I don’t like that a single bit!
Extortion Pricing 02nz. €299 if you’re a Senator – who already has a dedicated lounge. Flying weekly with Lufthansa between UK & Germany I only get Frequent Flier Status with access to Business Lounge, with guests extra. I often wonder what extra you get behind the frosted doors that makes it special. For that price it must be *really* something.
It’s about on par with what AF charges and about on par with what the airport charges for their vip service.
Perhaps, like AF it’s aimed for people flying routes with no F service to begin with.
As nice as the lounges are, I don’t think they’re worth the charge. FCT might be a different story, but it’s not included in the offer anyway.
That’s nutty pricing. I could see EUR 99 but 249-299 is craziness. People who would pay that for the lounge would probably have sprung for F to begin with.
