Brussels Airlines has added 6 new destinations to their summer timetable that will extend their reach within Europe and add another destination to Russia.
Nearly each of the new destinations is what I would consider a ‘Niche’ destination in that some of the new cities that have been added are quite small, very quaint and offer a lot of charisma for visitors to appreciate.
The new destinations for Europe are Dubrovnik, Lourdes, Calvi, Olbia and Bullund. For Russia, St. Petersburg has been added. The new routes should be available for booking soon on BrusselsAirlines.com with fares starting as low as €69 for a round trip ticket.
The timing of the routes is as follows (departure from / return to Brussels (BRU)) :
Calvi (Corsica): Will operate 1x/week between May 30 and September 26, 2015.
Dubrovnik (Croatia): Will operate 2x/week between April 25 and October 3, 2015.
Olbia (Sardinia): Will operate 1x/week between May 27 and September 19, 2015.
Billund (Denmark): Will operate 2x/day beginning March 29, 2015.
Lourdes (France): Will operate 2x/week between May 11 and September 25, 2015.
St. Petersburg (Russia): Will operate 3x/week between March 30 and October 23, 2015.

LUFTHANSA CARGO has launched a contest that will award 5 lucky winners a trip to one of 5 Lufthansa Cargo destinations around the world. The destinations include Johannesburg, Buenos Aires, Istanbul, Los Angeles and Mumbai.
To enter, participants are asked to submit their favorite photos either through Instagram with the hashtag of #NetworkingTheWorldContest or via Lufthansa Cargo’s Contest Link on Facebook. You may enter as many times as you wish!
The submission period will continue for 3 weeks from the start of the contest on October 22, 2014. After the entry period closes, a Jury appointed by Lufthansa Cargo will review all entries and will select their favorite 50 entries to proceed to the second round.
As part of the second round, the 50 finalists will be given a challenge that needs to be completed in order to continue in the contest. The challenge includes the submission of a video (50 second maximum) or 5 additional photos and a brief 500-word essay sharing your thoughts on what it would be like to be a travel journalist or blogger. The final 50 will be given 2 weeks to complete this assignment and it will be from this pool of 50 that the 5 Finalists will be chosen.
Each of the 5 winners will be randomly assigned one of the 5 destinations that are part of this contest and will be flown by Lufthansa Airlines to their respective destination where they will be the guest of Lufthansa Cargo for 3 days. As part of the prize package, Lufthansa Cargo will provide each winner with 2 nights in a local hotel.
During their visit, each winner will have a chance to visit LH Cargo and meet with the local Cargo team and observe a typical day at a Lufthansa Cargo outstation. Part of the Winner’s responsibility will be to share their experiences with the Lufthansa Cargo Community through photos and a brief description of their experience during their trip.

Normally I don’t write about hotel offers, but when it involves one of my favorite properties I’ll make an exception.
In an email that I received today from the Hyatt Regency Hong Kong (Tsim Sha Tsui / Kowloon), they are offering what they refer to as a Winter Celebration package. Bundled in this package are a few perks and amenities that you normally would pay for.
The package covers any stay between November 1, 2014 and February 28, 2015 and includes these benefits:
A full Breakfast Buffet at the hotel’s Cafe for each day of your stay.
One MTR (Metro Transit) Day card per guest per stay.
Discount Coupons for the K11 Mall (The hotel is attached to it).
Complimentary non-alcoholic beverages and snacks from your minibar.
Summed up, the value of the perks is fairly attractive. Just the minibar snacks, soda and water alone can add quite a bit to a bill, especially if staying for a few days. I’ve eaten Breakfast several times in the Cafe and have no complaints, they provide a large variety of options….both Chinese and International choices. The MTR card is a great convenience and the discount coupons to the mall can be useful since the Mall has several good stores, including a large grocery store. An additional benefit to staying at this property is that the hotel will PROVIDE YOU with a cell phone for you to use during your stay with unlimited local calling and data access. Its the only hotel that I’ve stayed at that offers this convenience and it saves me quite a bit of money that would be spent on prepaid sim cards for my phone.
We’ve stayed at the Regency twice a year for the last 3 years and have had great experiences each time. I already have my annual Hong Kong Plane Spotting Pilgrimage booked and am taking advantage of their promo.
The staff is extremely friendly and gracious, and the hotel’s proximity to fantastic shopping and convenient transportation options make it a desirable place to stay while visiting HKG. ‘2 thumbs up’ for this place!
