LUFTHANSA Thanksgiving Business Class Fare Sale Ends Next Week!

LUFTHANSA Thanksgiving Business Class Fare Sale Ends Next Week!

Lufthansa’s current Business Class sale for travel between the US and Europe comes to an end on August 31.

This particular fare sale covers travel over the Thanksgiving Holiday weekend and makes it the perfect opportunity to take advantage if you’re thinking of visiting the Christmas Markets in Europe.

There are some good deals out there for this one.   For example, fares between New York and Frankfurt are only $2100.   While most East Coast gateways to Europe run between $2200 and $2800.   Mid West and West Coast departures range from the mid $2500 to low $3000 area.     The fares are booking into ‘P’ or ‘Business Basic’ fare category.   For most frequent flyer accounts this means 100% earning rates.

This fare sale is available for departures between November 21 and 27, and return flights between November 26 and December 2.    Tickets must be purchased 60 days prior to departure.

As with any LH fare sale, flights can be operated by other LH Group Airlines, Air Canada or United so be mindful when booking your flights.   The miles you earn for a flight are determined by the airline you are flying, so you earning rates may vary.   If in doubt, please ask and I can clarify where your best earning options would be.

LUFTHANSA Officially Rolls Out Business Class Signature Service

LUFTHANSA Officially Rolls Out Business Class Signature Service

Lufthansa has announced that it will take their ‘Business Class Signature Service’ from pilot program to standard product across most of their long-haul footprint.

For those of you unfamiliar with the concept, passengers who travel in Business Class will now experience a restaurant-like experience and have a dedicated flight attendant that will look after them.    A flight attendant will be responsible for a group of 8-12 passengers instead of floating around the entire cabin.    Lufthansa hopes that this focus will provide passengers a more personalized experience during their flight.

Most passengers can expect a different experience with ‘Business Class Signature Service’

The new program will roll out in 3 segments.

Beginning on August 1,  passengers flying aboard A380 aircraft to New York (JFK), Miami, Houston, Delhi, Johannesburg, Beijing, Seoul, San Francisco, Shanghai and Los Angeles will see the ‘Signature Service’.

On October 1, ‘Signature Service’ will begin on 747-400 and 747-8i aircraft.

On October 25, the A340 fleet will see the new program.  It appears that the A330 is not part of the rollout, perhaps due to the fact that it is a smaller aircraft.

Lufthansa has conducted 130 trial flights and has trained over 4,500 flight attendants in advance of this rollout.
