Lufthansa announced that it has begun what it refers to as expedited security screening for certain flights that depart from Munich at certain times of the day.
Specifically, the new program called ‘Smart Depart’ creates an expedited security process for flights departing Munich for Berlin, Dusseldorf, Hamburg, and Frankfurt during peak travel times. The nature of this program allows the gates for these flights to be located closer to the security check points in Munich’s Terminal 2 and dedicated check points will only process passengers flying to the cities listed above.
The program will be available on weekdays only, between 6a and 8:30a, and between 4p and 6:30p.
To locate these special checkpoints, look for the ‘Smart Depart Fast Lane’ signage when approaching security.

Lufthansa Group has launched an incredibly attractive BUSINESS CLASS Fare Sale to the USA from Germany with fares starting as low as €1339 ROUNDTRIP! The fares are not expected to stay at these levels for more than a few days (if that!) so you might want to take advantage of them sooner than later.
The fare sale covers flights operated by LUFTHANSA, SWISS, AUSTRIAN, BRUSSELS, United, and Air Canada.
The travel windows seem to be fairly wide open with many travel dates available for travel between April and January 2019. But like I said, this fare sale may only last hours or days. Once the allotted fare classes are booked, the pricing will go back to normal. The fares would required midweek departures and arrivals but that’s an insignificant hurdle to cross for this kind of deal!

Frankfurt to New York for €1339
Munich to Houston for €1339

Lufthansa announced a fare sale for travel between Germany and their Asian destinations with fares ranging between €529 and €599 to places like Beijing, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Tokyo, etc., etc. The fares cover flights from either Frankfurt or Munich.
Example fares:
Frankfurt – Hong Kong for €549
Munich – Beijing for €529
Munich – Bangkok for €569
The fare sale runs through February 13, 2018 and is valid for departures between January 31, 2018 September 30, 2018. Return flights must take place between February 5, 2018 and December 30, 2018.
There are 2 black out periods for the fare: Between March 23 and April 3, and again between June 29 and September 9.
