Just a brief update after exchanging emails with my contacts at LH who confirm that Lufthansa will bring the Boeing 747-8i to Miami for a limited time. If you recall I had commented on the rumor of this happening in a post last week, and it looks like it has come to fruition.
Beginning May 30, the 747-8i will fly between Frankfurt and Miami 2 days a week, on Thursdays and Fridays.
At this point, I do not know when the 747-8i will stop serving Miami, but from what I understand it will be for a short duration. If I learn anything more, I’ll pass along the info.
In related news, Lufthansa received their latest 747-8i yesterday, and it will be entering service in the coming weeks.
