A BIG H/T to Techguru on MilePoint for this one.
Trapcall is a subscription based service for mobile phones that unmasks blocked caller ID. One of my peeves is the anonymous caller ID and it looks like this will eliminate it. One of the features of trapcall is that you can blacklist unblocked phone numbers which really will help reduce the amount of times I pick up the phone just to hear a sales pitch.
There are 3 levels of service, and pricing varies accordingly. You can learn more at www.trapcall.com
By the time you read this, I will be a new subscriber!
There’s over 900 reviews on the Apple App Store about this product, and the overall rating is 2.5 stars out of 5. There’s been a storm of 5-star reviews in the last few days. Sounds like someone is trying to sell a product via social networking to me.
@Arnold- thanks for the info. I signed up for it yesterday, and so far its already “caught” 2 blocked caller ID’s. Its election season so its nice to have the political phone spam identified and blocked!!
I have been using this service for some time and it has saved me more than once from annoying telemarketers.
@Frank – Glad to hear that it actually works!
