SWISS’ New First Class Lounge Opens Monday!

SWISS’ New First Class Lounge Opens Monday!

Swiss has announced the long-awaited opening of their new First Class Lounge at Zurich Airport.   The new lounge is located in Terminal A and promises to deliver as great an experience as their fantastic First Class Lounge in Terminal E.

The lounge officially opens on Monday, and will boast 7,000 square feet of space for First Class and HON Circle passengers.

The lounge will feature it’s own Security Checkpoint and will allow for First Class passengers arriving in Zurich to be driven directly to the lounge vs. having to navigate the terminal on foot.   Passengers can also be driven to their long haul flights that usually depart from Terminal E.   Last year I was driven from Terminal E to my flight to JNB leaving from B, and it was much, much nicer than having to take the tram from E to B.

The lounge will also feature other wonderful amenities such as:

  • Barista Station
  • A La Carte Dining Room as well as a visible cooking station where you can see your food being prepared.
  • Winter Coat Storage for passengers departing ZRH for warmer destinations (LX will hang on to your coat until you return).
  • Relaxation Room w/ loungers.
  • Smoker’s Lounge with its own dedicated Whiskey Bar
  • Business Zone
  • Conference Room
  • Shower Rooms

For those of you that have visited the First Class Lounge in ‘E’, this one will look very familiar.   According to SWISS, then new lounge in ‘A’ was heavily inspired by the Terminal E version.

Austrian Lounges In Vienna To Close For Renovations

Austrian Lounges In Vienna To Close For Renovations

Over the coming months, Senator and Business Class Lounges in Vienna will be closed at various times while they undergo renovation.

As of today, the Business Class Lounge in the non-Schengen area of concourse ‘D’ will be closed.   Austrian did not provide a timeframe for it’s reopening.

After the ‘D’ Lounge re-opens, the Senator and Business Class Lounges in the Schengen Concourse F will be closed.   After the ‘F’ Lounge is re-opened, the non-Schengen Lounge in Concourse G will closed for it’s facelift.

These rolling closures will continue throughout the winter, with the plan being that all lounge renovations are completed by early spring.

Through all this, the HON Lounge will remain open and will not be receiving any kind of renovation.
