Most of you may have seen this, so apologies in advance. With me being in Singapore and with time zone differences and WIFI wonky-ness, I haven’t been able to keep close tabs on whats been happening with the cabin crew strike.
However, the union has called its most aggressive move to date, and will strike for an entire 24 hour period on Friday, 7 September. The strike is set to begin at 12:01a Friday and last through 11:59p.
UFO’s “leadership” has called on Lufthansa to enter mediation at which point the union would stop these strike actions, but as of now Lufthansa has decline to do so stating that it’s current offer is worth serious consideration and does not require being mediated.
Currently, there are approximately 22 flights cancelled for today, and 2 are cancelled for tomorrow. Most of the flights are either intra-Germany or intra-Europe at this point. Only Delhi and Dubai have been canceled as far as true “international” flights are concerned.
To see the complete list of cancelled flights, please visit Lufthansa’s Flight Cancellation Update webpage.
I have about 20 hours of flights coming up in the next 24 hours, and after that I’ll finally be able to keep track of the strike in “real time”.

Lufthansa has already cancelled approximately 220 flights for Tuesday including several long haul flights to and from the USA and Asia.
UFO, representing the Cabin Crew, has called for strikes in Berlin from 5:00a to 1:00p at Berlin-Tegel(TXL), from 6:00a-2:00p at Frankfurt(FRA) and Munich(MUC) from 1:00p to 12:00a (Midnight).
I sense this round of strikes will have an even deeper impact on Lufthansa’s operations than the first round last week. With approximately 220 flights already cancelled, this can lead to a cascading affect of more cancelations as the day goes on.
As always, for the most up to date information, including the list of cancelled flights, please visit Lufthansa’s webpage dedicated to the cancelled flights.

UFO, the union representing the cabin crew that are striking against Lufthansa, has announced that strikes will continue on Tuesday.
In this this latest round of strikes, the union has suggested that they will last longer than the previous strike from last week that lasted 8 hours. It also said that it will be held at more airports. The strike last week was primarily targeted at Frankfurt and led to approximately 230 or so flight cancellations.
The union did not provide any information as to which airport or at what times the strikes would be carried out. I’ll try to keep tabs on any further announcements however I am in Singapore for the next few days and may not catch each bit of breaking news in time!
