Fanhansa Gets Into The World Cup Spirit!! Something Not Seen In 60 Years!

Fanhansa Gets Into The World Cup Spirit!! Something Not Seen In 60 Years!

Over the next few weeks, lucky passengers flying on certain Lufthansa aircraft will be part of something that has not happened in over 60 years.

To celebrate Football’s World Cup in Brazil, Lufthansa will be removing the traditional Lufthansa logo found on the front part of the aircraft and replace it with a World Cup inspired “Fanhansa” logo.

The first aircraft to debut the livery will be an Airbus A321 on May 16 that will depart Munich as Flight 2066 and fly to Hamburg and London. In all, 8  aircraft will sport the new look including 1 A340-600, 2 747-8i, 1 A320, 2 747-400 and 3 A330 birds.   Couldn’t imagine how big the logo would be on an A380! 🙂

What I do know is that the newest 747-8i (D-ABYO) has had the logo applied and will show it off when she starts flying in a few days.    Something tells me I’ll be seeing one from the inside out sooner than later……

Over the coming weeks, Lufthansa, er, Fanhansa will be getting into the World Cup spirit with several promotions and celebrations that you’ll find at airports, online and on board.

The big promotion is the opportunity for those passengers who fly aboard a ‘Fanhansa’ jet to be entered to win a ticket on Lufthansa to Brazil.

I’ll share more info on LH’s World Cup celebration as I find out about them!   Now back to my Plane Spotting in Zurich! 🙂

LUFTHANSA Earns Top Honors From TripAdvisor Traveler’s Choice Voting

LUFTHANSA Earns Top Honors From TripAdvisor Traveler’s Choice Voting

TripAdvisor recently conducted its Traveler’s Choice Award voting for 2014 and as a result Lufthansa has earned the honor of ‘Best Airline’ in Germany.

Over 95,000 people participated in the survey which allowed voters to pick their favorites from a myriad of travel related categories for 12 countries. Among the many categories open for voting, they included Hotels, Travel Gear, Airlines, Fast Food, etc. etc. all the way down to favorite deodorant.

Lufthansa’s Chief of Sales & Marketing, Jens Bischof went on to add that “It is a special honor for us, when thousands of travelers in the TripAdvisor community vote Lufthansa into the top spot as the best German airline. It makes us particularly happy that high quality and innovative travel options have a particularly significant value in the TripAdvisor Traveler’s Choice Awards”.

Nice to see that in spite of all the challenges that LH has faced over the last few weeks and months such as airport and crew strikes, passengers still recognize a great airline when they see one!

New Flightradar24 Module Lets You Watch Entire Lufthansa Fleet In Real time

New Flightradar24 Module Lets You Watch Entire Lufthansa Fleet In Real time

Lufthansa Cargo recently introduced  a new module that lets you see nearly any flight being operated by Lufthansa that is carrying Cargo from LH Cargo.    The Flightradar24 module seems to specifically track Lufthansa, Austrian or AeroLogic operated flights.    Options include being able to see only the LH Cargo fleet (the 777F or MD-11F), all non-Cargo aircraft carrying Lufthansa Cargo or simply entering an LH or Austrian Flight Number to see that specific flight.

This actually winds up being a useful tool to see most, if not all LH operated flights since most LH passenger flights carry Lufthansa Cargo dedicated freight on board.
