Austrian has announced that they will be replacing their Amenity Kits for long haul travel in Business Class.
The new kits should be in circulation by now and have 3 versions. For passengers departing Vienna, they will be given a small pouch with the typical amenity kit items inside. This kit is somewhat similar to the current kit.
For travelers heading to Vienna, they will receive a larger bag that can double as a shoe bag or a pouch for your cables, chargers, etc.
On certain flights an additional small rucksack will be given to passengers as well.
The cosmetic components of the kit are produced by ‘Edition Edelweiss’.

To meet the demand of fans traveling to and from this year’s Euro 2016 being hosted by France, Austrian has assigned the 777 to fly between Vienna and Paris. Of the 4 daily roundtrips between the cities, the 777 will be assigned specifically to flights OS411 and OS412. OS411 departs Vienna at 7:05a and arrives in Paris at 9:10a. OS412 departs Paris at 10:00 and arrives in Vienna at 12:00p.
Here are the specific dates for the 777 flights:
Daily from Thursday June 16 through Sunday June 19 (OS411/412).
Daily from Tuesday June 21 Through Thursday June 23 (OS 411/412).
This of course assuming that the French ATC workers don’t screw things up by going on Strike as they’ve threatened to do during the Tournament. However, I don’t see them being stupid enough to try that stunt if they wish to have the public’s support for their silly ‘plights’ 🙂
But again, the French ATC’ers have tried to make a career out of striking……

Got your attention didn’t it….
Beginning June 10, Austrian will be deploying their 777s to fly between Vienna and Paris to meet the demand as a result of the UEFA Euro2016 Championship which is set to run between June 10 and July 10. Specifically, the 777 will operate the morning flights between Vienna and Paris in they days leading up to the Austrian National Team’s matches against Portugal and Iceland. The Portugal match is June 18, while Iceland is on the 22nd, so expect the 777s to be especially active a day or 2 before and after these matches.
In addition to increasing capacity to Paris, OS will also add 15 additional flights between VIE and CDG using their A320 and A321 aircraft.
Austrian will also deploy more capacity to Lyon as it will replace their Dash 8 and Fokker aircraft with narrow body Airbus aircraft to help meet the additional demand of fans of other countries traveling via Vienna to go root for their teams. Austrian plans to operate the Airbus aircraft on at least 10 flights during the tournament between Vienna and Lyon.
In all, Austrian will be adding 5,000 more seats worth of capacity during the tournament.

Austrian has launched a deeply discounted fare for flights between Chicago or Washington and Hong Kong for only $2500! Miami – Hong Kong can be had for $2800. The fares seem to valid beginning in September and availability runs well into 2017. For those to whom it’s important, these are ‘P’ fares. Of course, these flights from the US connect through Vienna.
Not sure if these are error fares or if they will only last for a short while. So if you see something you like, book it. It may not be there tomorrow!
Austrian’s website can be quite challenging when trying to find inventory so I suggest that you use something like Google.com/flights to help you track down availability for this fare.
