BRUSSELS AIRLINES has announced a contest seeking someone to create a 5th tribute livery to compliment the other 4 in the fleet.
The contest revolves around Belgium’s identity and ‘Belgitude’ and is looking for someone to design a livery that captures the heart and spirit of Belgium and her people and translate it onto the side of an aircraft.
The contest is straight forward. You’ll need to download their blank aircraft template, design your livery, and upload it for consideration. A panel of 10 judges will review all entries and select 2 finalists.
The submissions of the 2 finalists will be posted on Brussels’ Facebook page and the submission with the most votes from the FB community will have their design applied to an aircraft.
The deadline to enter this contest is Midnight on August 31. Winners will be selected in September.
The Grand Prize winner will have the opportunity to witness their design being applied to the aircraft, as well as being present at the unveiling of the aircraft to the public.
Lufthansa Miles & More is running a Worldshop promotion between now and October 31 which will award its winner 1,000,000 miles.
Entry is easy…..
Simply purchase an item, any item, from the inflight WorldShop Catalog during your flight and you are automatically entered to win. Just make sure to give the cabin crew your Miles & More card so that they can register your purchase and entry you into the contest.
Not traveling on Lufthansa during the contest period?
That’s no problem. You can still enter the contest by sending and email to email@example.com by 31 October 2017. All you need to do is write ‘Million Miles’ in the subject field and enter your Miles & More number in the body of the email.
The winner will be selected on November 1 and notified via email.
The Star Alliance has launched a contest celebrating their 20th anniversary and 21 lucky winners will win 1,000,000 miles for their Frequent Flyer Program (or other prizes as determined by the airline’s frequent flyer program).
To enter, there are a few hoops that they will make you jump through including submitting a ‘selfie’, uploading a photo that you took depicting a cultural experience, and a short message discussing your cultural epiphany.
To be eligible for an entry you must be a current member of a Star Alliance frequent flyer program (status level doesn’t matter). You must also be a member in the same plan at the time the winner is announced. When completing your entry you’ll be asked to provide your Frequent Flyer number for your program and that is the account that will receive the miles. There will be one winner for each of the 21 frequent flyer programs in Star Alliance. Please be aware you can only enter once. If you are a member of multiple plans, you’ll have to pick one. Once you enter, you can not change or update your entry.
Though most of the programs will award their respective winner the 1,000,000 miles, a few of the plans have alternate prizes. SAS will award 4 ‘Round The World’ Business Class Tickets, Air China will give you 1,000,000 kilometers, Air India will give you 1,000,000 FR Points, and Air New Zealand will give you 20,000 Airpoints Dollars.
The winner will be able to use the miles as they normally would within their plan however the miles are award miles only and do not count towards status levels.
The contest runs until July 31 and the winner will be picked by a panel of judges for each frequent flyer program. The winner will be announced on September 28, 2017.

Late last night I received a message from a reader who asked if I could help him find a good home for 2 eVouchers that are expiring at the end of this year. Unfortunately (or fortunately for you?) he won’t be able to use the vouchers for his own travels, but has generously offered them up to a deserving traveller…..
After thinking on it for a few hours I think I’ve come up with the perfect way to get these vouchers into the hands of someone who can use them.
For the next 3 days, until midnight December 24, anyone who leaves their travel plans in the comment section of this post will have a chance to get the vouchers. Once the deadline passes, the person (grantor) donating these vouchers will review all entries and he will pick the one that he feels is the best one. One winner will receive both vouchers.
Keep in mind, your itinerary must already be booked. In order to get the vouchers, your PNR or Locator code must be used when the vouchers are redeemed by the grantor.
Even though the vouchers expire on December 31, they can be applied to bookings in the future. You do not need to travel by the end of this month.
Keep in mind that not every fare class is eligible for upgrade via voucher. It is your responsibility to know if your fares are upgradeable! The winner will not be awarded the vouchers if the fares in their itinerary are not eligible.
To learn about the various options, including fare classes and using the vouchers on Star Alliance partners, please visit the FlyerTalk thread that specifically addresses how to use the vouchers. Pay special attention to the ‘Wiki’ at the top of that thread. If you have any specific ‘what-if’ questions, feel free to post them in that thread.
You can also refer to the Miles & More ‘Terms and Conditions’ for additional rules governing the use of Vouchers. Please do not leave questions in the comment area as to how to use the vouchers. There’s no guarantee that I’ll be able to answer the question in a timely manner.
The winner will be contacted by email by December 27. Please make sure to leave your email address in the appropriate field when entering your comments.
LufthansaFlyer assumes no responsibility or liability as to the use of the vouchers.
UPDATE: The vouchers have to ‘clear’ before expiring on December 31. Should the winner’s booking not ‘clear’ the upgrade at the time the upgrade is requested, another winner may be selected if the Grantor choses to do so.
